There is a whole line of Mormons in my Bearce/Ogilvie decendants. A couple of them left Nova Scotia and went to Salt Lake City. Specifically, George Byers Ogilvie, brother of my ggg-gf Peter Egerton Ogilvie, and gg-grandson of James Bearce and Experience Howland. There are slews of Bierce/Egerton/Ogilvie Mormon cousins still there in SLC. Judi Boyce, who is still lurking on the now defunct Bearse-List, is a decendant of George Byers Ogilvie. We need to get her over here. Also, have a cousin, Dan Coons, who is a writer/historian of our family lines and has written a 30 page bio on George B. O. and the trip to SLC. He doesn't do lists though, but maybe I can write to him about the BEARCE Mormons. One of the daughters of George B. Ogilvie, married the mormon missionary, Adamson, in Nova Scotia, before they all took off to SLC, so that makes Adamsons children Bearce cousins....Gee does this mean we're all closer to heaven?? I'm not afraid!! I am dying to come and visit! Psycho Cousin Elaine keeps me locked up in her house and makes me work all day and hardly ever let's me go anywhere! She thinks that making me eat chocolate and ice creme all the time will get me so fat that I won't be able to go anywhere! Even on foot! I think she's afraid, that if we come for a visit, that you will make her look at Inkblots and then we will have to give her a frontal Lobotomy!!! (She doesn't even remember that I gave her one already!!!) (I guess it worked!!) I think all the cousins should write letters to Elaine to tell her that she has to take me to your house this weekend to make up for all the torture she has put us all through!! Hi I have James Bearse and some of his children Bearse and Bierce. Of John and Sarah's children, I have some Bearce, Bears, and Bearse. I know for sure that that back to my 5th g-grandfather that we have spelled it Bearce. My Mayflower papers also have John's last name spelled Bearce. Hope that makes some sort of sense, it's getting late and I have a killer headache. hi sharon, (and all) well, i am going to guess that one of those mormon bearce lines is from the Reed/Bearce (Levi Ward Reed) connection as i have been following that one closely, but what is the other?? I have ordered a couple more census coming very soon and hope to peice a few things together. also just found out about and ordered william burton's probate record!!! really hoping it list some relatives in it! also found some folks in hickory, MO who have been doing some lookups for me and found some really good leads- and more names of briggs, reed and burton to follow up on there, so been very busy- but excited. i feel like i am moving forward again. it is nice to be back on the list- i missed everyone. my dad is doing ok, but looks like my folks are going to need to move closer to me for some help (they are 9 hours away!) and both in poor health now. but, with all this, still can't miss a day of researching someone!
