Captain Murtogh O'Sullivan of Coulagh (or Quoilogh), Eyeries Parish, had the following family:- John (who went to Cametringane, Castletownbere; died May 1817, aged 71), Captain Dan O'Sullivan (died on Jan. 4th 1814 in his 57th year; unmarried), Philip, Marcus, Jerh, Owen, Morty, James, Margaret, Ellen, Mary, Anne, and Abigail. Mary Ann Baldwin (who was married to John who went to Cametringane) was a granddaughter of Mary O'Connell (an aunt of Daniel O'Connell, the Liberator). In 1815, following on the death of the last Mac Finin Dubh ( or Mc Finnan Duff) of Dirreen, Lauragh, Co. Kerry, in 1809, Murtho O'Sullivan of Coulagh put in a claim for the Chieftainship and inheritance (over Mac Finin Dubh's territory). To help support his claim, he presented Lord Lansdowne with a gift of. 7 Japanese deer. However, the Chieftainship went to Peter Mac Sweeney, son-in-law of the last Mac Finnan Duff's sister, Mrs. Browne. Sylvester O'Sullivan (interred in St. Finian's Lower Cemetery, below North Road, Castletownbere), a direct descendant of the Mac Finin Duff, was born in Collerus, Lauragh, Co. Kerry; served in the Royal Navy in the Baltic Russian War; retired in 1887 as Senior Officer, Coastguard, died on March 20th 1911, aged 78. His sister Elizabeth was the last to be buried in the grave of the Mac Finin Dubh at Kilmackillogue, near Lauragh. His wife Elizabeth died on 29/7/1909, aged 67; his sister Catherine died in 1911. His daughter Elizabeth died on 25/6/1938, aged 65. His son Richard died on 19/7/1944, aged 69. His niece Helena O'Sullivan Dolan died in Fermoy, Co. Cork, in 1946.
