I currently have the FHC film for births in County Cork in the Castletown district for three months in 1867. There are a lot of Bere Island births, and of course Castletown but there are also Dursey Island, Cluin, Allihies, Cahermore etc. They include the mother's name as well. I ordered this film because I learned that my husband's grandfather's birth record was on it. As some of you will recall I was a Sullivan (ancestors from Beara) and I married a Sullivan. Well, the good news is that his grandfather was born in the Kankurk area around Newmarket in a combination Co. Cork and Limerick district. The little town was Barnacurra and since this was in the NW corner of Co Cork, my husband and I are probably not related. Our kids are elated.
