Hi, I use the Personal Ancestral File software that the Mormons developed. It's available for free at http://www.familysearch.org/eng/paf/ There are prettier packages available that you have to pay for, and online java based packages that start out free and then charge you money after you hit a certain threshold of usage. They all have their pros and cons. I've found the PAF software to be best for my uses. Best, Bill Gawne pinkpagoda@aol.com writes: > i created a simple family tree using a software at my workplace meant > for doing organizational charts. it's served me up to now but now i > want a real family tree program to help me maintain all the new family > information i am getting. can anyone recommend a software or should i > join something like ancestry.com? there are so many choices out there. > i don't want to make the wrong choice. thank you. > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > BEARA-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message > -- Bill
