Gerdie Harrington is a Historian, not a Genealogist and was one of the founding members of Beara Historic Society back in 1986. After his retirement from the Society as Chairman in 2006, he was unanimously elected President for life in gratitude for all his past contributions to the furtherance of history on Beara. His writings generally are of the past history of Beara and its peoples rather than on family heritage. If you are interested, several of Gerdie's writings can be found on the Beara Historical Society's website at www.bhs.ie However if it's a Genealogist you're looking for, search no further than Riobard Dwyer, the definitive font of family lineage on Beara. Best Wishes.
