I have been researching some women from the Beara peninsula who came to southern New England.One I found in the census is Abigail Harrington born about 1850.Her Father was Michael Harrington and her Mother was Abigail O'Neil.They settled in New Bedford where Abigail died in the 1930's or 1940's.She never married but had a sister,Catherine, who married a McKewon. I am not sure if this family was from Beara and wonder if anyone has any information on them. Thanks, Jane Sullivan.
