John, Neither James nor Mary appear in the Detroit city directory for the years 1870, 1871 or 1872. There is a Mary but she is the widow of Michael, I believe. I checked both Driscoll and O'Driscoll. Since he was 70 years of age, I doubt that they were just passing through. I am thinking that the family listed above them (in the same dwelling-house) is the daughter's family. Maybe tracing them will help.
