Victoria, When are you leaving on your trip? The National Library Ireland is due to put all of their church records online on 8 July 2015. If you have the time, I would suggest looking at those before you leave so that your time in Ireland is more useful - finding what you cannot find from here or just enjoying more of the scenery and local people. Did you mean Bere Island in Bantry Bay? A google search for "Bere Island" (in quotation marks) turns up all kind of information. ____________________________________________________________ Want to place your ad here? What a great game the championship football game must have been as Beara came out on top. Riobard made us feel the excitement with his account! I have been away from the list for some time as my wonderful husband, Bill, died on May 8 after an 8 months battle with cancer. We would have celebrated our 54th anniversary next week. I was the man across the table from Jane. This was my fourth day , up from Fairfax County VA , searching for my Buaigs, amassing 1.5 cm of handwritten notes and photos. I totally confirm Jane’s experience with the staff at NEHGS. Thank God, Riobard, that among your gifts of hard work and generosity, you have eminently readable handwriting! I paid the $90 for a year’s membership. And Beth Emery, development officer, even offered to buy me lunch! Hello Bill, Re: John O'Driscoll's request Please look up''Driscoll Family Tree" and "O'Driscoll Family Tree" on Ancestry.com. Both trees are authored by SO Driscoll. Jeremiah is listed with copious records and information. I checked NEGHS for Jeremiah's birth in 1848....no listing. Hope the above is helpful. I am still trying to climb my Buiagh brick wall. My Michigan O'Sullivan's 1860-1890 wrote back , when people died, to Timothy O'Sullivan, NT, Boher Cottage, Rossmacowen. But I can't find a trace around there. Could it be that Timothy was from somewhere else and was assigned or hired into Rossmacowen? How wd I find out? BTW I am writing from NEHGS in Boston having just gone through box 1 of about 30. Jack Mansfield Fairfax county VA Sent from my HTC One on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network

Riobard and others- I hope I am not "overbounding my steps" as Laurel and Hardy once said, but The Annals of Beara, Volumes 1, 2, and 3 are available on Lulu Books for purchase, both as texts and Nook Books. The information/ link is below. I hope by sending this Riobard will also gain a few pence when someone purchases one or all of these treasure. Even though we already had the originals my wife and I purchased the three volumes so our children and grand children can look them over. Here's the link, with the hope that a purchase will benefit the author. This is for Volume II- I, and III are available from the same site. John and Bill, If you can be patient with me, I'll dig up my notes. I was surprised to find out that my great grandfather's bar and house was owned by the Driscoll brothers who were his business partners. They originally owned a grocery store and Phil J. Harrington set up a subscription service where he would go around on a horse and prearrange orders so that they were ready when the people came. Then they opened a bar which was on the corner of Main and Quartz (if my memory is on task). There's a lot of stories from the newspapers about the happenings at the bar. My mother isn't well, so it takes me a bit more to get around to things this days. I should be able to find the first names of the Driscoll brothers and see if it's your Driscoll or not. Yes Riobard. This looks like a scam. I have had several reports about it. Hope it clears up!
