    3. Dear Jeanine, In order to straighten out a few things, I hope you don't mind me asking you a few questions. What had Johanna Murphy/Elizabeth Sullivan (married John Murphy) to do with Johanna Downey (married Andrew Sullivan) ? Which of them is the "She" buried in Butte ? Surely from the births of the 14 children, you would be able to know the proper Christian name and original surname of the mother. Where were the "She" & John Murphy married ? And when roughly ? Do you mean that Johanna Downey (married Andrew Sullivan) later married John Murphy ? If the parents listed on your grandmother's marriage cert are John Murphy & Elizabeth Sullivan, I wonder is that incorrect ? What age was the "She" supposed to have been when she died in 1906 ? Had "she" any brothers or sisters that you know of ? Any of them married at home in "Bere Haven" ? The whole thing seems to be a bit unclear at the moment. You say you like a good mystery. So do I !! The fact that a woman has coal-black hair has nothing to do with whether she is from up north or down south. 'T'is just a fact of life. ---- Riobard. ----- Original Message ----- From: <JMorey4657@aol.com> To: <beara@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, October 10, 2008 4:20 AM Subject: [BEARA] Needing help > Looking for help finding my Great Grandmother. > Her name was Johannah Downey (maiden name) > Johannah Sullivan her husband Andrew Sullivan > Johannah Murphy later married to John Murphy. > She is also listed on my Grandmothers marriage certificate as Elizabeth > Sullivan. > > She is buried in Butte Montana. 3. Hi Jim, Have you checked the US Census of Silverbow County Montana for the years when your aunts were thought to be in Butte? I've had some luck with that, finding my grandparents there in the 1920 census. Beyond the US Census, you might also check with the Silverbow County tax office to see if they were registered tax payers. A note to the local Catholic diocese might also bear fruit. Best of luck, Bill Gawne James Murphy <greenane@hotmail.com> writes: > > Dear listers, I am sure this ground has been covered before but > that was before I learned that the Boston Beara society has > tentatively scheduled a trip to Butte next August providing the > current credit crunch doesnt crunch it also. > My maternal Aunt Mary Ellen O'Neill from Cahirmeelabo went to Butte > to two maternal aunts who ran a rooming house there. From what I know > two of her aunts went there but they were married and had > families.I also believe they left there one family returned to > Castletown and settled there, the other moved on to Washington State. > Mary Ellen had two more aunts Julia and Elizabeth O'Neill who I > suspect were the ones that she went to but I have no idea how to > prove it.All I have is their birth dates > They also had a brother Quin who went to Butte and married Mary > O'Sullivan(Barule) from Bere Island. 3. Dear listers, I am sure this ground has been covered before but that was before I learned that the Boston Beara society has tentatively scheduled a trip to Butte next August providing the current credit crunch doesnt crunch it also. My maternal Aunt Mary Ellen O'Neill from Cahirmeelabo went to Butte to two maternal aunts who ran a rooming house there. From what I know two of her aunts went there but they were married and had families.I also believe they left there one family returned to Castletown and settled there, the other moved on to Washington State. Mary Ellen had two more aunts Julia and Elizabeth O'Neill who I suspect were the ones that she went to but I have no idea how to prove it.All I have is their birth dates They also had a brother Quin who went to Butte and married Mary O'Sullivan(Barule) from Bere Island. I don't know if they stayed on in Butte or moved on. Any ideas where I should begin would be greatly appreciated . Thank you. Jim. _________________________________________________________________ Want to do more with Windows Live?
