Dear Betsy, I searched up to (& and including) 1840 but could find no Mary Lowney. Even if I did find one, there would be no guarantee that she would have been a sister of Maurice, as the Records at the time didn't give the parents. Hi Riobard, Do you know if Maurice Lowney had a sister Mary? I finally found a reference to Cornelius Harrington's mother -- it was listed as Mary Lowney. In Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden, Mass. there's a headstone with the following inscription: Hannah wife of Maurice Lowney died January 8, 1877, aged 63 years born in Bearehaven, parish of Kilmanna Co. Cork, Ireland Since the headstone is so old the elements have done a job on it. In time the inscription will disappear. I would just like to know that, if someone is interested in Hannah, they would know where to find her or at least her final resting place. Thank you. 'Tis quite possible that she was the Honora (nee Kelly) from Ballydonegan, Allihies Parish, who was married to Maurice Lowney there, but there is no further trace of them and their three children after the Famine.
