    3. Hi Marge, Cappanaloha, Parish of Kilmaccomoge in the Barony of Bantry is split into two Townlands, East and West; their areas are respectively 68 and 69 Acres. The Irish is 'Ceapach na Luaithe' which in English means 'Plot of the Ashes' The name comes from a place where grass was burnt to encourage growth. Hope this may help. Best Wishes. 3. Hi Mary If you were to look at this from the other direction: Do you know all your grandparent's siblings i.e. children of your ggrandmother? Although I am not a believer of the first name culture it can provide some valuable hints. Have you studied the witnesses and sponsors of this family for a clue? *IF*they were still in Bantry area at this time I would expect the immediate family to fill these roles for your grandparent. Another thought is that it may be easier/more effective to try and eliminate one of this pair than to find the perfect match. 3. Hi John... Here's what I know...my gr. grandfather married Julia at St. Finbarr's RC Church in Bantry. Her father John was a farmer in Courloum and his father a laborer in Bantry. If my gr. grandmother is a daughter of John & Mary K...I can trace descendents to today as Julia's younger sister Catherine married and had 9 children - two of them having children presently living in or near Glengarriff. As for the other John & Mary C...two of Julia's siblings (Robert & Michael) married women at St. Finbarr's and had children but only two of these offspring carry the family names. It gets very confusing - all I really have are baptismal and marriage records from St. Finbarr's. Thank you for your interest and bless you for any insights. 3. Hi Kevin, Thanks for the quick response. I don't know where Julia died. Her husband Patrick is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden, MA along with a few of their children but I have no trace of Julia. I did write to Roscommon Civil Records to see if they had a death certificate but they found none! 2. Hello. To the Beara List Member regarding a Jeremiah HARRINGTON who came to DOWLAIS in Wales  I have a number of booklets on Merthyr/Dowlais R.C. Churches also others related to the area. I just picked up one and I found this baptism. Jeremiah HARRINGTON baptised Sept 25th 1858 son of Jeremiah HARRINGTON and Ellen GOLDEN at the R.C. Parish Church of St. Illtyd, Dowlais, Merthyr, Glamorgan, there are also baptism dates for more of their children ELLEN, JAMES, MARY, DANIEL,DENNIS, also the wedding details although sparse of Jeremiah and Ellen. If you want the full details just email me I have two addresses the best one is   griffiths780@btinternet.com or do the both. John Patrick Griffiths, from a sunny Port Talbot just 31 miles from DOWLAIS. -----Original Message----- From: rradclif@sympatico.ca To: beara@rootsweb.com Sent: Mon, 13 Apr 2009 20:02 Subject: Re: [BEARA] Jeremiah Harrington, Adrigole ath If you 'google' Timothy Harrington you will get much information on this MP!
