C, I have a Harrington/Sullivan family that moved to Leadville about 1879 or there abouts. They lived in a few places but stayed in Leadville about ten years. What kind of information were you looking for on these people? In my direct line family the husband was a Harrington and the wife a Sullivan. Please let us know what you are looking for... Dianna
To C. Sullivan, Jay Richards, Dan Harrington, Dianna, Don Harrington, Re - Leadville My Grandmother, Ellen Harrington (Caobach), from Lower Cahirkeem, had three brothers who went to Leadville. The dates were approximately 1860's. They were Jerry, Tim and Jack. Jerry went first and lived in Denver and Leadville.Tim followed him and lived in both those places. Jack came later and lived for many years in Leadville and then moved to Utah, where he lived in Park City and later Bingham Canyon where he died. Jerry went back to Beara where he married Margaret Goggin of Cahirkeem and lived in Lower Cahirkeem. His granddaughter, Agnes Duggan, still lives on that same small lane going down to the Bay. That lane starts just across the road from the Grotto. These guys sent money back home to pay for my Grandmother and her twin sister, Margaret to come to the States. Both came to the Michigan Copper Country where they married men from Beara. Out of curiosity, I checked the 1880 and 1900 census for Leadville (Lake County) and found there were many Harringtons and Sullivans living in Leadville at that time period. As I recall there were 57 Sullivans in 1900. Have you checked the census to find those you were looking for? Don Harrington
Hi All: I was in Leadville about a month ago. I think I remember a Harrington sign on 9th or 10th Sts. while traveling around the town to get to the the train ride and shopping. I am not sure of it thou J. Hi all especially Riobard if you are around. I would like to get information of any Sullivan' or Harrington's living in Leadville especially during the years between 1875 and 1920 or so. If you know they lived on 5th Avenue even better. ~~C Sullivan
To all, I've an odd question. I've been so busy tracking the burial places of my ancestors here, that I've never thought about where people in Eyeries could be buried. Is Kilcatherine Cemetery the only possibility? I've also been searching for the parents of Michael Murphy from Butte Montana who married Mary Murphy in Butte. Mary was daughter of Patrick Murphy who was wed to Maggie Sullivan. The parents are Jeremiah Murphy and Nora Sullivan of Glengariff. We have Riobard's Eyeries book, but don't know if Glengariff is included or is in another of his books. I'm just amazed that we miraculously have found any leads. Dear Listers, there is a danger that the Bere Island post office will be closed permanently if the powers that be get their way. There is a petition posted on the Bere Island website www.bereisland.net asking all of us to sign to prevent this from happening .If you can take a minute to do this you will have the heartfelt gratitude of the Island population who deserve better. The majority of crew lists are held by the Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada. Some are held at Kew Gardens. There are even less held at the different ports. The web address for the maritime archives in Canada is www.mun.ca/mha/ The records they hold are for British ports. Wendy Conroy.

Anyone researching O Guinidhe: O'Guin/O'Gwin/O'Gwyn? Perhaps someone here can help me. I can go back on paper 6 generations to Hardy O'Guin (and various spellings) who was born in North Carolina USA about 1775, died Tennessee USA after 1850. Hardy's son Solomon was born in Tennesse USA about 1805, and eventually moved to Missouri where he raised my ggg-grandfather Benjamin Harrison O'Guin. Various Alexanders, Bryants, Christophers, Daniels, Edwards, Tarlows, Georges, Jameses, Johns, and Patricks bought and sold a lot of land in North Carolina starting about 1742. I have no idea when the family actually left Ireland, or why, or whether they were Catholic or Protestant. I have had no luck searching ship's manifests from this side. According to MacLysaght, the original spelling may have been O Guinidhe from County Kerry or County Cork, and Woulfe says posslbly O Guinye. Is anyone familiar with this surname? I have crossposted to the County Kerry and County Cork lists at Rootsweb, and the Y_IRL at Yahoogroups Thanks Randy O'Guin, Northern Virginia, USA

Moygoish, West Meath - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curry_(surname) has a lot more Checking the 1911 Census (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/), there is only two Curry families in Cork.

Not completely. I was just there and there are chainlink fences, no landscaping and a lot of work still to be done. We heard in town that they went broke again. Possible new group may buy. We heard lots of trouble getting supplies in, apparently caused a lot of commotion in town.
