Hello all. I am new here and want to thank Jean and Charlie for helping me find this list. My maiden name is Bales and my sister and I have recently started doing some research on our ancestors. We have been a little bit frustrated because it's not been easy to trace them. So far we are only back to the early 1800's and have traced them to Greene County, TN. My g-grandfather was John Bales, Jr. married to Mary Ann Griffith. His parents were John Beals, Sr. and Rhoda (Keller??). John's father was Jacob Beals and that's as far as we have at the current time. I'm doing a bunch of research this week at the National Archives, so I'm hoping to find more. I have so much more on the other side of my family tree, the BEALS/BALES side has been frustrating to say the least. Nancy Bales Dougherty
