I am interested in obtaining information about two individuals who are directly related to me. The first individual is my great-great-great-grandfather Frank Beal. He came from London, England around 1840 to Oneida County with two other brothers. Frank married a woman whose name was Sophia Susanna Boyer. Sophia migrated with her family from London, England around 1823 when she was about 13 years old. A Family Bible states that the couple was married in Waterville, Oneida County, New York around 1840 or later. Their first daughter, Frances Beal, was born in New York State on 14 Aug 1842. She may have been baptized in one of the churches in the area. The family later moved to Lucas County, Ohio around 1844. A summary of the family's birth years (approximate) are as follows: Parents Frank Beal (b. Jun 1812, London?, d. Providence, OH) Sophia Susannah Boyer (Beyer or Bayer) (b. Aug 1812, London, d. 1900, OH) Children: Frances Beal (1842, NY) Frank F. Beal (b. 1845, OH) John Alexander Beal (b. Sep 1846, OH) Through research and phone calling, I may have found Frank's brothers. >From a 1850 census from Sangerfield, NY, a "Charles Beal" is listed. He was from London, England and married "Charlotte," an American from New York State. I do not know her maiden name. The family is not listed in Sangerfield later than 1855. From the ages of the parents and children, I assume that Charles came from London, England around 1840-1843 and married in Sangerfield about 1845-6. A summary of the parent's and children's names, along with their approximate birth years are listed as follows: Parents Children Charles Beal (1823) Mariah (1846-7) Charlotte (1824) Harriet (1848) Charlotte (April/May 1850) Additionally, another BEAL from Bridgewater, NY may have been related to Frank. His name was James BEAL. He was born in Sussex, ENG around 1821. He came to America in 1841 and married Ann Marie from Kent England. James' father may have been named John Beal. James was fairly wealthy and owned a large farm in Bridgewater, NY. His children were Rachael(b. 1844), Frederick (b. 1847), and Mary (b. 1848). He had other children also. I am attempting to relate these brothers to Frank or with some connections back to England. Thank you! Jared <jsommer@psn.net>
