Had five children: John, d. 1697; Hester (Gassaway) Groce/Gross Warman, d. before 1735; Jane Gassaway, d. 1736; Margaret Gassaway; Thomas Gassaway (1683-1739). Gassaway, Hester (Besson) (d. before 1672) Daughter of Capt. Thomas and Hester Besson (widow of Henry Caplin). M. Nicholas Gassaway, Anne arundel county, MD. Two children: Nicholas, d. 1699; and Anne (1670-1742) who m. 1st John Watkins, Jr., 2nd William Burgess, and 3rd Capt. Richard Jones, Jr. Gassaway, Col. Nicholas (bap. 11 Mar, 1634 - Jan 1692) son of Thomas Gassaway, St. Margaret's Parish, Westminster, London, England. christened 11 Mar, 1634, at St. Margaret's Church, Westminster. Came to Maryland in 1649/50, and settled in south River Hundred, Anne Arundel county. Was active in Militia, and by 1687 had risen to rank of Major and soon after, Colonel. M. 1st Hester Besson, dau. of Capt Thomas and Hester Besson. Two children: Nicholas, d. 1699; and Anne (1670-1742) who m. 1st John Watkins, Jr., 2nd William Burgess, and 3rd Capt. Richard Jones, Jr. After the death of Hester Besson, he m. 2nd Anne Besson, her sister, and five other children: John, d. 1697; Hester (Gassaway) Groce/Gross Warman, d. before 1735; Jane Gassaway, d. 1736; Margaret Gassaway; and Thomas Gassaway (1683-1739). Groce/Gross, Hester (Gassaway) (d. before 1735) Daughter of col. Nicholas and Anne (Besson) Gassaway. B. south River Hundred, Anne Arundel county, MD.
