Dear Brenda, I am quite excited about your message (below) in response to Nancy's query. I have high hopes that you can fill me in on some of my newly discovered ancestors :-)! After many years of trying to discover the parents of my Mary "Herrel" who who born in 1825 in Spencer Co., KY, I learned about 2 weeks ago that they were Levi HERROLD and Rachel REYNOLDS. Levi and Rachel were married in 1815 in Stokes County, NC and came in that same year to Shelby County, KY. Since they lived next door to one Richard Reynolds who had adult children and who came to Kentucky in the same year, I am guessing that perhaps this Richard and his wife Nancy were Rachel's parents. I have been told by HARROLD researchers that Levi was the son of Richard Harrold and Mary Pitts. Richard was the son of Jonathan Harrold and Catherine Hiatt. Jonathan was the son of Richard Harrold and Mary BEALS. Mary was the daughter of John Beals (1662-1726) who in 1685 married Mary Clayton (1665-1725). Mary was the daughter of William Clayton (1634-1689) and Prudence Lanckford, who came to Pennsylvania in 1678. The Harrolds were Quakers who moved from PA to VA to NC -- JOnathan moving from Hopewell Meeting in Old Frederick County, VA to Deep River Meeting in Guilford County, NC.
