Abstract of Deed, Book H, Upson County, Georgia, recorded March 28, 1857, and dated January 2, 1855, shows Andrew J. Beall/Bell was a resident of Chambers County, Alabama. He was born in North Carolina on April 13, 1815. According to Jackson County, Georgia, early court records, "Minutes of Court of Ordinary, 1800-1822; he was orphaned by the age of seven. The minutes, dated November 1821, read "ordered that Andrew Bell orphan son of William Bell deceased be bound to Aaron Tillman until he shall arrive to the age of twenty one years, he being of the age of seven years on the 13th of April next - the said A. Tillman to have said orphan taught to read and write and the common rules of arithmetic. Ex'd. Andrew had three brothers: William, James and Elijah. These orphans drew land in Georgia's 1832 Gold Lottery. The Tax Digest of Upson County, Georgia, dated 1834 and 1836/37 show A. J. Bell paid taxes on forty acres in Sec 4, Dist 16, Lot 378. According to Harris County records this land was sold on March 1, 1849, by William Bell, James Bell and Elijah Bell to William Powell. Andrew married Luraney/Lurana/Lorena DeLoach b. about 1820, in Upson County, Georgia. She was the daughter of Joseph and Louisa "Leacy"(nee Johnson) DeLoach. The marriage occurred on January 17, 1837, in Upson County, Georgia. Does anyone know anything about this family? I don't know which William Beall was the father nor do I know the mother's name. Thank you, Jean Bell Martin
