Any BEALL researchers have a record of a marriage between a BEALL and a PICKETT? My ggg-gparents, Hezekiah PICKETT and Mary Ann GREEN, named their first son, Beal PICKETT in 1836. There were at least two other Beal PICKETTS in Randolph Co, IL at the same time, 1850-70. Beal was born in Campbell/Kenton Co, Ky, and a Beal PICKETT was a bondsman on Hezekia's marriage license, 1834, Campbell Co, Ky. I also found a mar. lic. for Beal PICKETT and Verlinda RICHARDSON in 1804 in Campbell Co. If these are Hezekiah's parents, I'm looking for a BEALL-PICKETT marriage before 1790. THE BEALL PART: Benjamin BEALL and Jennet KENNEDY lived in Campbell Co. Ky, ca 1805. He is the son of Benjamin BEALL and Mary Duke EDMONSTON. Benjamin died in 1809, and Jennet bet. 1811-14. They had nine children. Descendants of Benjamin Duke Beall, Sr. 1 Benjamin Duke Beall, Sr. - 1809 .. +Jennet Hamilton Kennedy - 1811-14 ......... 2 Sally Beall ............. +David L. Carney ......... 2 William Kennedy Beall ......... 2 Mary Beall ......... 2 George Mutter Beall ......... 2 Nancy Beall 1789 - 1856 ............. +James Garner Lindsey 1790 - ......... 2 Benjamin Duke Beall, Jr. ......... 2 Samuel Josiah Beall ......... 2 Edwin Jeremiah Beall ......... 2 James Alexander Hamilton Beall ............. +Sarah L. Kercheval In her will, Jennet named her parents as William and Mary KENNEDY. Further research (from a "cousin" who has more reference materials than some libraries I've been in) gives William KENNEDY, b. 1728, Old Cumack, Scotland, wife Mary LINDSAY, and dau. Jennet Hamilton KENNEDY who married Benjamin Duke BEALL (Sr.). THE PICKETT PART: Col. Martin PICKETT, Sr., (s/o William PICKETT and Elizabeth COOKE) in his will dated May 15, 1824 (after Benjamin & Jennet's deaths) named all his children, and where appropriate, said "children of my dec'd dau......" with his married daughters. Then named James KENNEDY, Jennet's brother, and seven children of Benjamin BEALL and wife Jennet (below), but no relationship for them. Martin PICKETT didn't name Wiliam or Mary, so I assume they died before 1824. George M. Beal, Benjamin D. Beal, Samuel J. Beal, Edwin J. Beal, James A. H. Beal Nancy Lindsey, wife of James J. Lindsey Sally Carney, wife of David Carney Martin PICKETT did have a sister, Mary Ann, b. 1747, but I show she was married to Rev. Wm. MARSHALL in 1763 when she was 16 years old. I'm really stumped. The only thing I can think of is that Mary Ann PICKETT 1m. MARSHALL, 2m LINDSAY, 3m Wm. KENNEDY, which would make Jennet (Kennedy) BEALL, Martin PICKETT's niece. But it still wouldn't explain a BEALL-PICKETT marriage. Any ideas? There is no PICKETT surname list that I've been able to find, so I'm turning to the BEALL researchers. I know you have your hands full with your own research, but I could really use some help on this one. Hezekiah PICKETT has been my brick wall for 4 years. If I could find the BEALL-PICKETT connection, I would have a whole new surname and many new cousins. I've been on this list for 1 1/2 years, and saved all the messages, but nobody has mentioned a PICKETT. Thank you for even reading this far. Barb Bolesta in St. Louis
