I know I have been driving all you Beall researcher's nuts with this guy, but I am reading a copy of issue #21 of Beall genealogical news and I know I must have the right guy. I am just trying to complete the info my great aunt left me in a letter outlining our family tree in which she said "General Bell" in the civil war was her grandmother's (Mary Francis PUMPHREY SAMPLE) cousin. Mary Francis was the daughter of Catherine BEALL PUMPHREY of Jefferson County Ohio. She is listed in Roberta Hull's Descendents of James as Catherine S. ( aft 1852) m. bef 1852 Pumphrey.. She is buried at Walnut Ill Died May 4 1855. Page 253 of Beall news from Roberta Hull says Walter Beall, son of Samuel, is giving trouble. In your listing I received in February you had (1741-1792) BORDENTOWN, KY m. (1) Susannah (2)1768 Rebecca Tannehill. Lisa Simm file lists Walter II BEALL (1741-<1810) & Susannah Walter II BEALL(1741-<1810) & Rebecca Tannehill Samuel T, BEALL (1789-1840) & Sally RECTOR William Nelson Rector BEALL According to Drew Fountain's civil war page he was born March 20, 1825 BARDSTOWN KY Died July 25, 1883, Mc Minnville, Tn. Grad. West Point 1848. I don't know how Mary PUMPHREY would have known that this civil war General was her cousin as at best they were 5th cousins? Does anyone know anything more about the Beall's from Bardstown Kentucky. Linda
