I don't swear by the dates, which are different from Linda's since mine came from Fielder MM Beall. B-ALEX-232-1 Major Thaddeus Beall, b. 1741 (FMMB) or 1747 (Griffin) Prince Georges Co, Md, (before formation of Frederick County in 1748) of Josiah [1715] of John [1688] of Alexander [1649], Immigrant. Marriage. G1767 m. in Frederick Co. his first cousin Amelia Jane Beall, (B-ALEX-231-6), dau of Samuel Beall, Jr, & Eleanor Brooke, b. 1747 (Griffin), Washington Co., MD, d. after 1812, Hagerstown, Washington Co, MD.7 She inherited resurvey on Good Will, called Millseat, running through a stream called North West Branch." "Records of deeds executed by Thaddeus indicate that he and Amelia lived as "Planters" in that part of Frederick County which became Montgomery County in 1776...thus the same general area as their parents." (McLean, p 28). 28 Aug 1772 Thaddeus Beall of Fred Co for �100 conveys lot in town of Frederick to Jacob Hesse. (FCLO U3). Revolution. Thaddeus was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Frederick County, MD, Militia on July 3, 1776 (Maryland Archives Vol. XI, folio 544). 2d Lieutenant, 1st MD Batallion of the Flying Camp, Jul - Dec 1776; Brigade Major to General Beall in September, 1776.8 In Continental Army, 1776; in corresp of the Maryland council of Safety, a 2nd Lieutenant in the Company of Captain Edward Burgess, Wednesday Jul 3, 1776. In 1777, 1778 deeds, lived Montgomery Co. 12 Apr 1777 Thaddeus Beall, late of Fred but now of Montg Co, to John Gilbert, late of Fred but now of Montg, merchant in Georgetown, Lot #10 for �255. Amelia, wife, waived dower. (MCLO A:38) 12 May 1777 Thaddeus aptd Captain (Archives of Md 16:373) North Carolina. "By November 20, 1779, a Montgomery County deed recites them to be 'of Guilford County, North Carolina." Amelia's sister Verlinda & brother in law William Dent accompanied them to NC. In 1790 Census, Guilford County, NC. Georgia. 1794 moved to Greene County, Georgia; Thaddeus lived Warren County, GA at his death 1808 (FMMB) or 1815. 1. Salisbury Dist, Guilford Co, NC 1784 (+) a. Walter, b. prob. NC 1786. No further information. b. Anna (or Ann "Nancy"), b. prob. NC 1788 (+) c. William, b. prob NC 1790 (+) d. Leathe (Leathy), b. prob NC G1778 (married 1796) That Leathe was the daughter of Thaddeus is proven by a caveat to her father's will, which her husband Thomas entered on her behalf (Warren Co, GA probate records; Griffin). (+) B-ALEX-232 Josias Beall, b. 1715, d. 1768, of John [1688] of Alexander [1649]. Lived in area now Montgomery County. Parran has this Josiah as Josiah of John of Thomas of Col. Ninian, however Thomas, b. 1682 (B-NIN-6) of Ninian died without issue. FMMB and other authors confuse this Josiah with Josiah who m. G1736 Millicent Bradley, dau of Robert Bradley, had 9 children and d. 1805 and whose children at the death of Millicent (Apr 21, 1772) are listed in Piscataway Parish Records; however Josiah the husband of Millicent lived in an area of PG County which remained so, while Josiah of John lived in an area which became Frederick Co, then Montgomery. (McLean, p. 18) Compare also with Josiah b 1725 & Josiah b. 1743. 1741 John & Verlinda Beall deeded to son Josiah 300 acres of Easie Purchase, located near present day Ashton; land stayed in family until 11 years following Josiah's death in 1768 when Thaddeus was in North Carolina. 1748 Josiah was officer in Captain George Beall's Troop of Horse, "an authorized organization of militia charged with the responsibility, among other things, for maintenance of law and protection of inhabitants from Indian thievery and raids. Frequently appointed vestryman of Prince thievery and raids. Frequently appointed vestryman of Prince George's Parish from 1748 thru 1763. Appointed by Maryland Assembly as Associate Justice and Commissioner of Frederick County various years 1749 thru death in 1768.55 Also Member of the Lower House of Maryland Assembly for Frederick County, various years, 1754-1761. (McLean, p. 19). Deceased by 21 Nov 1770 when Thaddeus Beall administrator of his estate (Heterick I:33) (FMMB has nine children) Heterick (I:33) says unable to locate references to children other than Verlinda and Josiah. 1. Josiah of Josias, b. G1745 d. 1805 in Allegany Co, Md. m. Elizabeth Brooke Beall, dau of James Beall whose will made 1801 & proved 1804. (+) 4. Lucy, b. G1747 d. 1799 in Allegany Co, Md. (+) 5.
