Hi! The mention of Ninian bringing over 200 Scots to Maryland is very interesting. I joined this mailing list because military records show that my ancestor Samuel Teater, and George Teater, served in the French and Indian War 1757-1758 under Captains Josiah Beall and Alexander Beall, respectively. The best accepted theory is that George and Samuel were of German origin and the name was Dieter in the old country, but there is no concrete evidence and I have my doubts. Samuel also named one of his daughters Charity, which is a name I have seen in the Beall family. After he moved to western PA with his in-laws the Doddridges, he is supposed to have signed a petition calling for a Presbyterian minister from Maryland to serve their congregation. My question is, if the passenger list can't be found, were there any land records naming these 200 people? Sincerely, Sue Draper Orlando, FL
