-- [ From: Jackson H. Day * EMC.Ver #3.1a INTERNATIONAL ] -- In response to David A. Lewis's note, I did a search in my DB for a Josiah Beall born between 1780 and 1800, and a Robert Beall born after 1800. My database consists only of Bealls tied somehow to Maryland, and your Robert wasn't said to be of Maryland, so perhaps there is no connection. Anyway, I didn't find one. However, I did find the following note: B-THOM-112-7. Margaret Ferguson Beall, b. G1800 (FMMB 1778) of Zephania [1728]; under 14 21 Apr 1811; court chooses mother as guardian. 6 Feb 1822 living in Gallatain Co, Ill; appoint Robert Beall of same county to receive from Eden Beall their share of their father's estate. (MCW P:219; Heterick III:2) The above note tells me that Margaret Beall, daughter of Zephaniah, and a great-great granddaughter of Robert Beall of Scotland (B-THOM), moved to Illinois, and while there appointed a Robert Beall as agent. What the note doesn't tell me is what relationship, if any, the Robert Beall of Gallatain Co. Ill had to Margaret. Or whether this Robert Beall was tied in some fashion to your Robert. If the dates are all correct, then your Robert, born 1812 in Indiana, was aged 10 when Margaret appointed Robert of Illionois to receive some property. Based on that, they're probably not the same person! Jack
