You can see my tree, one for Alexander and one for Ninian Beall at; http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/d/a/v/Linda-M-Davies/index.html. I have just redone my page to make quite a few adjustments so it is entirely different if you have been there before. Anyway you will find James and Mary Ann Edmonston in either tree but the one I have been refering to is the Alexander tree. Any questions or corrections let me know. Thanks Linda
Hi all, I'm searching for a Thomas Beale or Thomas William Beale born circa 1818 in Birmingham and later moving to London. Any information would be greatly appreciated. He had two children that I know of: Carolina and Albert. Judy

-- [ From: Jackson H. Day * EMC.Ver #3.1a INTERNATIONAL ] -- Connie, you asked about my record of 2 Sarahs, daughters of Charles and Tabitha, who both "d.y." and did I know where the hardcopy records for these two deaths are. I checked my DB. I didn't expect a reference to a hardcopy record of these deaths because if you have the exact date, you don't just put died young. What I found is even better--if the second Sarah had died young, there would have been no further reference; however, she is listed in her father's 1783 will. He didn't die until 1790, so I would think that if she had died before 1790 there would have been a change in the will. And you say she was in the 1790 census. So I think the first Sarah died young, but not the second. So I have created the following entry for the DB. If you could give me all the rest of the information you have for her, her husband, and her family, as well as line of descent to yourself, I'd be glad to add it to the DB. B-ALEX-227-17 Sarah "Sally" Beall, b. 21 Sep 1783 of Charles Beall and Tabitha Beall (B-ALEX-229-1). Moved to KY. 4th greatgrandmother of Connie White. Alive in 1790 Census. Younger sister of Asa, who spent most of his life in Bourbon Co, KY.

In the process of wondering why I hadn't picked this up, I discovered that the 1740-1760 file in my database was corrupted; fortunately I had a good copy on disk, and once I was looking at it, Lisa Simms' Basil Beall family showed up again. Also in the process, I got totally frustrated at how slowly Wordperfect 8 was running on my Pentium, and converted the files back to Wordperfect 5.1, which runs instantaneously. It's just that as a DOS program I can't get it to print through Windows 95.... Here's a total re-write of my earlier note to Carol: > This is _my_ Basil Beall you're talking about. Son of James m. There is a Basil, the son of Col. Samuel Beall, and that would give you all the Brooke ancestors. Unfortunately, your Basil's famly resembles Basil the son of James. Except for Basil's wife, where I have Maria, you have Harriet Gaither. Could Basil have been married twice? You may want to discuss directly with Lisa Simms, since each of you is descended from a different child of Basil. The brothers apparently had made some agreement among themselves. Basil himself had some rather valuable land. I've discussed my line with quite a few of you but wanted to know if there was ANYONE researching the the James Beall Jr (of Alexander) and Mary Ann Edmonston (gd of Ninian) thru thier son Allen Beall, his son Thomas Allen Beall, his son Asa Beall, his son Thomas Allen Beall, his son Marion Eugene Beall (my ggf). I have never found anyone who goes past Asa Beall and they usually only have his name. I have the names and b.d. dates and spouses straight to me but want more. If anyone is familiar with this line please let me know. Thanks, Linda

I found entries for Col. Samuel Beall and for his son Basil, howver the Basil information doesn't parallel mine. So I created a separate entry for your information in my database from Basil on to you. The information in my DB isn't as well documented as I wish, which may suggest it's part of the material I entered from Fielder M M BEall's book, which has many errors. So all we know is my information disagrees with yours, we don't have a clue which is right. Calls for more research! -- [ From: Jackson H. Day * EMC.Ver #3.1a INTERNATIONAL ] -- Lisa, intrigueing note about David Beall. I too worked back, but I placed him earlier. He had two daughters who m. in 1730, I figured the youngest of them had to be no younger than 18, or b. 1712, so the older was b. 1710. I made David be married the previous year, or 1709, and made him 21 at the time, which made his birthdate be 1688. At best a good guess, but helpful for grouping him among contemporaries. I looked in my DB and found no David of any kind born between 1600 to 1700. So this David is a new line. Don't know where he came from. My intepretation of AALR IH&TI#1:67 would be as follows: Anne Arundel Land Records, Liber (Book) IH&TI#1, Folio (Page) 67. The clerks who kept the books numbered them by their initials, so I'd guess there were a pair of clerks working these books, their initials were, respectively, IH and TI, and this was the first of the land record books they tracked. Don't know if it's the correct interpretation, but it may be useful anyway! Jack Day

Hi cousins, Ancestry's current free site: > Colonial Families of the United States free for 10 days > http://www.ancestry.com/ancestry/search/3314.htm has tons of information on Ninian BEALL and his descendants. For those of you more closely related to me <g> there is also information on MOORE, EDMONSTON, SMITH, THOMAS, COALE. Not sure when the 10 days ends. Diane Hettrick Seattle dhettrick@earthlink.net

Does anyone know the whereabouts of Marjorie H. Beal, formerly (or currently) of Indianapolis, IN, or if she is even still alive? I am trying to find her to discuss a pedigree chart she did (since 1993) on the ancestors of Amay Franklin, wife of Abel Beal (b. 2-4-1773 Athens VT). I did an internet phone book search with no luck. (of course she could be unlisted) If anyone knows of her, let me know. Thanks, Steve Kraus 103002.2212@compuserve.com
I haven`t got to my Beal line yet, but been watching. My grandmother`s maiden name was Beal (Corda) and she also used it for my dads middle name. Jewel Beal Myers. see also used Neal and Merritt, for two of her daughters middle names. I think neal was her mother`s maiden name. Does any of these names look familiar to anyone? I don't know if anyone's seen the searchable archive at the MD State Archives site yet, but it's a winner. http://www.mdarchives.state.md.us/msa/refserv/stagser/ssu1500/html/ssi1527a.html At the archive site, I've run across a David Beall who's unfamiliar to me: Hill, James, m. by Dec 1730, Jane, dau. of David Beall,Sr. (AALR IH&TI#1:67). JAMESON, John, m. by 1730, Eliza, dau. of David Beall (AALRIH&TI#1:77). If he's got daughters who are married by 1730, then he's probably born around 1700. I assume the AA in the index is Anne Arundel, but I'm not certain. Anybody know who he might be? Lisa Simms Beall Search : http://people.ne.mediaone.net/lsimms/beall0.html
Hi, I am new to the list but I am also a decendant of Ninan Beall, I think. first I thought it was alexander Beall but now I think it is Ninan. I would love to have a copy of Ninan's Will. I sure would love to see anything that resembles Ninian. You hear so many stories about what he looked like. I would really like to see something. Hi Dennis, I'll bet Bill Beall of the Beall Genealogical News has a copy of the will, maybe not in electronic format, but he can get it to you. Beall Family Association PO Box 33918 Portland, OR 97292-3918 Now you wouldn't happen to have that portrait of Ninian in eformat, would you? I'd be interested in seeing it. I'll hafta check, but there was a portrait like you described illustrated in the BGN in issues past. I recall that the identity of the individual was in question...'tho it was a Beall. Nope, wrong image. But I found the one to which, I imagine, you refer in Volume IV, #2, June 1994. There're 2 on the page...one _very_ naif and one attractive portrait in the Early American style. Caption of the "nice" image says it was submitted by Ted and Mary Taylor of Burson, CA with source unknown. Maybe Bill can make you a color copy or get you in touch with Ted and Mary. If you get Ninian's will in eformat, I hope you'll post it to the list. Should make for good reading! Hi folks: Im hunting for the full text of Col. Ninian Bealls 1717 will. Ive got excerpts, but really need the whole thing. Im also wondering if anybody out there happens to know who has the one surviving portrait of the colonel. Ive got a couple of very grainy b and w photocopies of it, but would sure like to see the original in full color. In my research of the Hook family I found that no less then four of them were given the middle name of BEALL. In the 1920 Census there is a Richard H Hook who married Ida M. Beall and has his mother-in-law living with them by the name of Alice L. Beall. Richard H Hook was born 1888, Ida M Beall was born 1889 and Alice L Beall was born 1853 but I dont have a connection yet to my Hook line. Rumor has it that my Hook line is related to our former U.S. Senator from Maryland, J Glen Beall. Do any of you BEALL researchers have a HOOK connection in the family??
