Hello -- I'm brand new to the list and also to searching for Beall! Below is what I know/suspect re: my husband's Beall family. Does anyone recognize any of these names? Know the m. of Basil and Verlinda is right/wrong? Thanks so much! April Basil M. Beall Notes for this family: marriage info is tentative as I have no solid proof that this is the correct couple. I am uncertain as yet re: the parents of Catherine Wines (listed as d/o Edwd. & Francis Wines on m. records). James and Josephine Wines are siblings. Since Basil's name appears as B.M., Basil M. and Brazel [on Admiral C.'s m. records, mother as Delinda] the children are somewhat tentative but I believe it is correct as here. Their m. records are from Fauquier Co. VR. ----------------------- in answer to a query I posted (16 Oct 1998) to MontgCo GenWeb: "See Marriage Licenses of Montgomery Co MD 1798-1898 by Janet Thompson Manuel p 18 Basil M. Beall and Verlinder Wright 17 Apr 1850" from Shirley <sennis@erols.com> (answered same day) I have added this info although I have never seen the source since the names are unusual enough so that I feel safe in believing this is correct. [this may be an error in my thinking as it is turning out that both Basil and Verlinda in relation to Beall are not so uncommon!] I now (26 Oct. 1998) have a copy of the entry for the marriage of Basil and Verlinda which lists no parents for either. The only additional info listed is that they paid $4.50 for the marriage license. The Hist. Soc. sent nothing else. -------------------------------------- Spouse: Verlinda Wright Married 17 April 1850 at Montgomery Co., MD. Children and grandchildren: 1 Admiral C. My great grandmother Mary Lula Allen Quick married a Beall in Georgia. Don't know when. My grandfather was Arthur Wesley Quick and was born in 1895 in Pike Co., GA. Mr. Beall was his stepfather and he went by the name of Arthur Wesley Beall. Don't know if he was legally adopted - probably not. Mr. Beall was hit by lightning and killed sometimes before 1917 in Georgia. I don't know his first name. Would like to get as much info as possible on the Beall's in Georgia. Thank you Linda Beall Weldon

I am looking for information on an ancestor named David Beall (or Bell). David is purported to be the father of Mary Beall (or Bell) who married Fergus Hall of Iredell/Rowan Co., NC. Fergus was born about 1772 and was the son of Thomas Hall and Elizabeth Sloan. Fergus migrated to Bedford Co., TN in the early 19th century. He seems to have married Mary sometime before 1800 in NC, although I have not been able to find a listing of their marriage. Legend has it that David is descended from Col. Ninian Beall. john. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= John B. Lisle <jbl@tqsi.com> P.O. I am new to this list and hope you can help me. I am trying to trace Abel BEALS Jr. His daughter Mary Catherine BEALS married my gggrandfather William Henry MARGESON in 1839 in Bridgetown, NS.She was a d/o Abel Beals & Susan HENNEBURY. In a Margeson Genealogy I have the statement that Abel was a Loyalist of 1783 who, "descended from John BEALS who came to Hingham, MA, from England in 1638, through the line of Jeremiah, Jeremiah Jr, Andrew, Abel Sr." This convinces me that the Beals must have or be in some genealogy but I don't know where to look, esp as I live on a tiny island (near Guam) and have no library and limited internet access. There is an Abigail KENT d/o Isaac KENT and a Mary MILLER who it appears were a wives of Abel BEALS Sr. I also know nothing about the HENNEBURYs, the KENTs opr the MILLERs. I would appreciate any help or clues on any of these families. Below is what I do SEEM to have though, at this point, I'm uncertain of the accuracy of most of it. I do have more Margeson info I can share. Let me thank you ever so much, in advance, for your efforts on this. Jude in Tinian - the island of rainbows. I have gotten some information about a John Beals who married a Mary Clayton. They had a son named William I believe and he had a son named Jacob who was born in 1777. Does anyone have any information on him? Nancy
Hi, I am Marian Beal Gardner and new to this group. Being the youngest of 4 girls in the family my knowledge of the family heritage is limited, but I am very much interested in learning more about the Beal family. My father's name was William Thomas Beal and my mother was Hazel Williamson Beal, both from Wylam, AL. My grandfather was Charles Marion Levi Beal, wife Lucy Nichols Beal, and I believe they were also from the Birmingham, AL area. Does anyone have any further links? Marian Beal Gardner

Hello to the Beall list, and I want to thank each and everyone of you who responded to my mail. I find this family interesting, fascinating, and sometimes confusing. Even though I am not a direct descendant, I love to research them. My connection is through my greatgrandaunt, Martha (Patty) Price, b June 23, 1846 m Samuel Erasmus Beall, b August 29, 1839, on May 06, 1866 in Eufalia, Barbour County, Alabama. Samuel was the son of (Colonel) Erasmus Thaddeus Beall and Charlotte A. E. Gachet. Children of Samuel and Martha are: Charlie Beall---Lucy Beall---Luttie Beall---Allie Beall---Patti Beall--- Samuel Beall, Jr.---and Erasmus Beall. I do not have birth or death dates on any of the children yet. Again thanks for all the wonderful info, and the time each of you took to send it. Linda

Hello, Beal cousins, again Thanks to those that attempted to help me find my beal family. For new members I am looking for Sebasian Beal, who's daughter Heity (may be a nickname) married Jacob Cromer 1844, mostly in PA. She died 2-25-2899 in Ill. That's all I know about this father and daughter. Going through my research I did in Salt Lake City I found that I had copied a Beal genealogy. Unfortionitly, I had not copied a title page. It's call Descendants of Manum (or Manion) Beall Manum Beall (1738-1823) emigrated from Scotland to America c1740? He married Fannie Lewis c 1764. They had 7 children.....their third: Samuel Beall, b. 1764 or 1769?, Mar. Susan Boothe. Their first son was Erastus b. 1788 mar. Elizabeth Brinkley. Their 4th child was Sebastian Beall (no further info). Can anyone claim this Sebastian, or is he mine?? Does anyone know of this Manum Beall Family?? Is it a main Beal family or branch off that tree?? Well any help will be deeply appreciated, Thank You much, Nancy PS if any one need further info on this Manum Beall Family, please let me know, I'll send the full (4page) genealogy.
