Am looking for the parents of Edwin Beall born July 5, 1847, married Amanda Tavenner Sept. 8, 1868 . Their children were (my ggf) Harry C. Beall, born Feb 17, 1878; Annie Laura Beall, born August 10, 1869; and Lot Lewis Beall born July 30, 1882. Edwin Beall died February 22, 1886. Have been watching the posts and have never seen anything that I could connect with, is there anyone out there researching this branch of the Beall family. Family stories say that Harry C. Beall was born in Ohio and he died in VA on Sept. 28, 1943. Thanks in advance for any information.
Looking for connections to Mary Marge Beal b circa 1730. She married Henry McWhorter circa 1750 in Lancaster Co, PA. Thier children were Moses, Jerimiah, Aaron, Henry, George and Sara. I am releted down through Jerimah > George > George McWhorter etc... Any help appreciated. I have no other information on my Beal ancestors. Any counsins out there? Or recomendations of web pages to check? The McWhorters were from Ireland but they probably met in PA. Thanks in advance for any help. Mitch Trier POB 415 Lisle, IL 60532 e-mail paxpooh@aol.com

Hope y'all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, may the blessings of the Lord shine upon you throughout the coming years. Tudie & Horace in Texas. 'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS (IN TEXAS THAT IS) 'Twas the night before Christmas in Texas, you know. Way out on the Prairie without any snow. Asleep in their cabin were Buddy and Sue, A dreamin' of Christmas like me and like you. Not stockings but boots at the foot of their bed, For this was in Texas what more need be said. When all of a sudden from out the still night, There came such a ruckus it gave me a fright. I saw across the prairie like a shot from a gun A loaded up buckboard come on at a run. The driver was geein' and hawin' with a will The horses, not reindeer he drove with such skill. "Come on there Buck, Tex , & Prince to the right There'll be plenty of travelin' for you'all tonight." The driver in levis and shirt that was red, Had a ten gallon Stetson on top of his head. As he stepped from the buckboard he was really a sight With his beard and moustaches so curly and white. As he burst in the cabin the children awoke Both so astonished that neither one spoke. And he filled up their boots with such presents galore That neither could think of a single thing more. When Buddy recovered the use of his jaws, He asked in a whisper, "Are you Santa Claus?" "Am I the real Santa? Well, what do you think?" And he smiled as he gave a mysterious wink. Then he leaped in his buckboard and called in a drawl, "To all children of Texas, Merry Christmas you'all (yawl)

On a similar note, the Charles Lovelace mentioned in your post is my ancestor. His wife was either a Beall or a Robey. It would be so nice to know which. Can any of you help? Happy holidays! -- [ From: Jackson H. Day * EMC.Ver #3.1a INTERNATIONAL ] -- Back in October, John B. Lisle was looking for information on David Beall, father of Mary Beall (or Bell) who married Fergus Hall of Iredell/Rowan Co., NC. Fergus was born about 1772 and was the son of Thomas Hall and Elizabeth Sloan. Fergus migrated to Bedford Co., TN in the early 19th century. He seems to have married Mary sometime before 1800 in NC, although I have not been able to find a listing of their marriage. Legend has it that David is descended from Col. Ninian Beall. I finally had a chance to look this up and found a David in Iredell County: B-CAROLINA-1 David Beall, b. G1752 d. 1806, Iredell Co., NC of probable Maryland Parent [G1730] m. G1773 Rachel Odell, b. (Note, Martha's sister, b. 1729 m. Richard Beall, B-ALEX-215/1722). Following death of James Odell, Martha Prather m. before 15 May 1779, Robert Lazenby. Robert Lazenby died 1785 in Montgomery Co, MD. Some of the Lazenbys are to be found in Iredell Co, NC. 26 Dec 1785 pruchased land along Fifth Creek & Robeys Branch on same date that James Bell purchased land, same tract, from Richard & Margaret Robison. (Beverly Allan.) When David Beall d. 1806, Burgess Gaither was named executor of will. I have some sources at home for that. I may also have the name of her parents. Their son Samuel Magruder did marry Sarah Beall, but she was not the daughter of Ninian Beall (there are a number of erroneous sources that say she was). She was the sister of Mary Beall who married John Pottenger. This is conclusively proven by references in their wills. Sarah and Mary were born in Scotland, and were likely brought over in the group of 200 Presbyterians that Ninian brought to Maryland. They were related to Ninian, and were likely nieces of his, but neither was his daughter. Greg Nelson --part0_913395547_boundary--

I don't know which list I got this from, but it was very interesting. Even though I didn't find anything of use to me, I thought the list would enjoy looking, & may find something of interest. It has some Bibles, picture postcards, photos, slave schedules, photos, letters, etc. The site helps to find original memorabilia. There is a listing of items available, & you can post items you're looking for. You MUST look!!! YOUR PAST CONNECTIONS http://www.pastconnect.com Also, another favorite site is: http://www.familychronicle.com/ Click on: Top Genealogy Web Sites. Many, many wonderful sites to search, especially if your pc is the only research tool you have. Good luck, Bettie WOOD <><
I know I have been driving all you Beall researcher's nuts with this guy, but I am reading a copy of issue #21 of Beall genealogical news and I know I must have the right guy. I am just trying to complete the info my great aunt left me in a letter outlining our family tree in which she said "General Bell" in the civil war was her grandmother's (Mary Francis PUMPHREY SAMPLE) cousin. Mary Francis was the daughter of Catherine BEALL PUMPHREY of Jefferson County Ohio. She is listed in Roberta Hull's Descendents of James as Catherine S. ( aft 1852) m. bef 1852 Pumphrey.. She is buried at Walnut Ill Died May 4 1855. Page 253 of Beall news from Roberta Hull says Walter Beall, son of Samuel, is giving trouble. In your listing I received in February you had (1741-1792) BORDENTOWN, KY m. (1) Susannah (2)1768 Rebecca Tannehill. Lisa Simm file lists Walter II BEALL (1741-<1810) & Susannah Walter II BEALL(1741-<1810) & Rebecca Tannehill Samuel T, BEALL (1789-1840) & Sally RECTOR William Nelson Rector BEALL According to Drew Fountain's civil war page he was born March 20, 1825 BARDSTOWN KY Died July 25, 1883, Mc Minnville, Tn. Grad. West Point 1848. I don't know how Mary PUMPHREY would have known that this civil war General was her cousin as at best they were 5th cousins? Does anyone know anything more about the Beall's from Bardstown Kentucky. Linda

Any BEALL researchers have a record of a marriage between a BEALL and a PICKETT? My ggg-gparents, Hezekiah PICKETT and Mary Ann GREEN, named their first son, Beal PICKETT in 1836. There were at least two other Beal PICKETTS in Randolph Co, IL at the same time, 1850-70. Beal was born in Campbell/Kenton Co, Ky, and a Beal PICKETT was a bondsman on Hezekia's marriage license, 1834, Campbell Co, Ky. I also found a mar. lic. for Beal PICKETT and Verlinda RICHARDSON in 1804 in Campbell Co. If these are Hezekiah's parents, I'm looking for a BEALL-PICKETT marriage before 1790. THE BEALL PART: Benjamin BEALL and Jennet KENNEDY lived in Campbell Co. Ky, ca 1805. He is the son of Benjamin BEALL and Mary Duke EDMONSTON. Benjamin died in 1809, and Jennet bet. 1811-14. They had nine children. Descendants of Benjamin Duke Beall, Sr. 1 Benjamin Duke Beall, Sr. - 1809 .. +Jennet Hamilton Kennedy - 1811-14 ......... 2 Sally Beall ............. +David L. Carney ......... 2 William Kennedy Beall ......... 2 Mary Beall ......... 2 George Mutter Beall ......... 2 Nancy Beall 1789 - 1856 ............. +James Garner Lindsey 1790 - ......... 2 Benjamin Duke Beall, Jr. ......... 2 Samuel Josiah Beall ......... 2 Edwin Jeremiah Beall ......... 2 James Alexander Hamilton Beall ............. +Sarah L. Kercheval In her will, Jennet named her parents as William and Mary KENNEDY. Further research (from a "cousin" who has more reference materials than some libraries I've been in) gives William KENNEDY, b. 1728, Old Cumack, Scotland, wife Mary LINDSAY, and dau. Jennet Hamilton KENNEDY who married Benjamin Duke BEALL (Sr.). THE PICKETT PART: Col. Martin PICKETT, Sr., (s/o William PICKETT and Elizabeth COOKE) in his will dated May 15, 1824 (after Benjamin & Jennet's deaths) named all his children, and where appropriate, said "children of my dec'd dau......" with his married daughters. Then named James KENNEDY, Jennet's brother, and seven children of Benjamin BEALL and wife Jennet (below), but no relationship for them. Martin PICKETT didn't name Wiliam or Mary, so I assume they died before 1824. George M. Beal, Benjamin D. Beal, Samuel J. Beal, Edwin J. Beal, James A. H. Beal Nancy Lindsey, wife of James J. Lindsey Sally Carney, wife of David Carney Martin PICKETT did have a sister, Mary Ann, b. 1747, but I show she was married to Rev. Wm. MARSHALL in 1763 when she was 16 years old. I'm really stumped. The only thing I can think of is that Mary Ann PICKETT 1m. MARSHALL, 2m LINDSAY, 3m Wm. KENNEDY, which would make Jennet (Kennedy) BEALL, Martin PICKETT's niece. But it still wouldn't explain a BEALL-PICKETT marriage. Any ideas? There is no PICKETT surname list that I've been able to find, so I'm turning to the BEALL researchers. I know you have your hands full with your own research, but I could really use some help on this one. Hezekiah PICKETT has been my brick wall for 4 years. If I could find the BEALL-PICKETT connection, I would have a whole new surname and many new cousins. I've been on this list for 1 1/2 years, and saved all the messages, but nobody has mentioned a PICKETT. Thank you for even reading this far. Barb Bolesta in St. Louis
