    1. [BEACHLEY] Notice about Rootsweb Lists
    2. Jim Jackson
    3. This has been received from the Rootsweb administration: Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb. As an alternative to RootsWeb Mailing Lists, Ancestry message boards are a great option to network with others in the genealogy community. Message boards are available for free with an Ancestry registered account. Thank you for being part of the RootsWeb family and contributing to this community. Sincerely, The RootsWeb team If anyone has an interest in finding alternative communication possibilities and/or suggestions for alternatives, please send a note to the list to that effect ASAP. With heavy hearts, Jim and Di

    1. [BEACHLEY] Help Keep This List Active
    2. Jim Jackson
    3. We just wanted to encourage you all to make use of this list in your family searches. A large number of Rootsweb lists have been made inactive due to no messages over a period of time. We want to keep as many lists active as we possibly can and your participation will help toward that goal. If you have a "brick wall" in your family search, send in a message with as much information as you have and let's see if someone may be able to help fill in those blanks. Best wishes, Jim and Di

I am happy to find you. Is your grandmother, Barbara, still alive. It seems that Amos B. Beachley was living with one of Barbara's cousin's Walter Davis. Author: robertcfryjr2 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.beachley/17.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Cindy, You and I are thinking along the same lines, at least in terms of Henry's age and a previous marriage (although not in terms of his arrival in America). On FamilySearch.org, I found a Heinrich Buegele married to a Margaretha Schaefer in Moerzheim, Germany. They had two sons baptized there: Conrad, b 14 Oct 1742, bp 16 Oct 1742 Johann Peter, b 10 Apr 1748, bp 12 Apr 1748 This Conrad would be about the same age as the one in the catechism records. Note that Moerzheim is a sister city of Frederick, Maryland, and several families from Moerzheim settled in Frederick County in the mid 1700s, including the family of my ancestor Christopher Michael, who settled very near Henry Beachley. Christopher's son George married Henry's daughter Mary Elizabeth. (Family legend holds that Christopher was the son of Franz Ludwig Michel of Bern, Switzerland, but I don't buy that.) 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: robertcfryjr2 Surnames: Beighley, Biegler, Beachley Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.beachley/25/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm descended from Henry Biegler (later Beachley), who settled near Middletown, Maryland. (His Beachley descendents were still there when I was growing up there in the 1960s and 1970s.) Henry was likely the brother of Conrad Beighley who went to Pennsylvania and Peter. There were supposedly the sons of Conrad Buechli/Buchler/variant spellings of Stuttgart, Germany. Does anyone have any primary source materials (e.g., baptismal records, marriages) linking them together or linking them to Stuttgart? On FamilySearch.org, I found a Heinrich Buegele married to a Margaretha Schaefer in Moerzheim, Germany. They had two sons baptized there: Conrad, b 14 Oct 1742, bp 16 Oct 1742 Johann Peter, b 10 Apr 1748, bp 12 Apr 1748 Moerzheim is a sister city of Frederick, Maryland, and several families from Moerzheim settled in Frederick County in the mid 1700s. 3. Hi Diane, my name is Mike Beachley, rather than rehash my family history; I would like to share a recent email I received from Shelly and my response to Shelly. I have not heard back from her yet but I am very interested in what she had to say. If you can add to or confirm any of her information it would be greatly appreciated. This is my web address; http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/b/e/a/Michael-T-Beachley/index.ht ml Thanks, Mike Beachley Harrisburg, Pa. Hi Shelly, It was awesome to receive your email today; I am really interested in Henrich Boechley's involvement in the Revolutionary War. Where can I read this information and how did you confirm that this is who we think it is? I know from his "Will" that he died Sept 1795, but I still have no idea where he is buried or when he was born and if he was indeed the 1st Beachley to arrive in America,. so many questions! Anyway, you have sparked my interest in digging deeper and trying to find some more answers, anymore direction you can give me would be greatly appreciated! Let me know if there is any information from my tree that I can help you with. 2. Hi, listers, this post is re: Peter BEECHLEY and Martha Ann who were married in 1861, Allegany Co., MD. I don't know how many of you that have worked on this line, have the info that Martha Ann was full-blood Cherokee Indian. Some say it might have been Chocktaw instead. In my family oral histories, we have that her real maiden name was CASTEEL, and that she was raised by the DeWITT household, and used that name on the marriage records when she married Peter BEECHLEY. Well, when I don't have anything better to do, I try and think up possibilities of this brickwall.....here's the latest..... Is it possible that Martha Ann's Mother was the full-blood Indian and that she was married to a CASTEEL....he died and she married a DeWITT, and together they raised Martha Ann and her bro, Barney, and sister, Margaret as DeWITTs? Would love to hear from anyone....pro or con, on this possibility, thanks, and (be kind) Janice

    2. Hi, as you might already know AOL is blocking all E-mails from Rootsweb mailing lists. I am completely cut-off from receiving. Would it be OK to post something on the list that if someone wants to contact me they need to do it off-list? I don't know the full scope of this current virus/worm invasion but it has sure put a halt to me research. Although, I am grateful for the protection that AOL is offering. thanks, Janice (descended of Peter BEECHLEY)

    2. I tried searching the list archives and did not find any posts. Is this an active list? I am researching my BEECHLEY line out of Somerset Co, PA circa 1750-1840. thanks, Janice
