    3. I'm looking for any relationship to the Bussingers. My ancestor, Anna Maria Bussinger married Joannes (Johan, John) Hodel and had child about 1830 Philadelphia, PA. She was said to be from Switzerland. I have information about other Bussingers from a similar time period, but no TRUE family connections. She was born around 1805. Please Help! 3. While looking for something else, I came across one of Marilyn's old posts: << From: <GNEOLOG@aol.com> Subject: Baysingers in Periodicals Date: Mon, 4 Oct 1999 08:36:13 EDT Thanks Terri for the marriage info for Elias Baysinger and Margaret Jones. There is a publication in the Ft. Wayne, Ind library concerning a Baysinger divorce in Kansas that I plan on looking up on a trip there the end of the month. See item # 1. Does anyone know anything about this article or any of the other ones mentioned here. Topic Article Periodical Volume Issue Month/Season Year Baysinger Divorce, 1857, Kansas Pioneer 7 3 March 1984 Jacob Baysinger Will, 1871, Kentucky Forgotten Pathways of Hancock County, Kentucky 12 3 1995 Jerry & Dianna Williamson Baysinger, Indiana Owen County History & Genealogy 2 4 Fall 1993 Mcconnell-Baysinger-Lindsey Bible, Kansas 10 2 October 1989 Millard Baysinger-Martha Congleton, Illinois Jacksonian Ventilator 35 March 1984 Riley Baysinger Murder, 1858, Kentucky Forgotten Pathways of Hancock County, Kentucky 12 3 1995 Take care all Marilyn >> However, I never saw a followup. I'm particularly interested in the 1857 Kansas divorce. Did you ever find the article, Marilyn? I will not be able to attend the FGS at Ft. Wayne in a few weeks and look up the article in the library, much as I would like to. Valorie

    3. The father of my gggrandmother Mellisa wa ssaid to be a Baysinger. Melissa was in Greene county Tenn and married an Abraham Dryman. At the time of her marriage to Dryman she had a small daughter , Carolyn who became my ggrandmother. Carolyn married john Walker Lankford. Back to Melissa, the name Melissa Gosnell was listed on her marriage paper. I dn't know if she had married a Gosnell or if she had a baby out o wedlock. Her brother Latison married a Maty who was a Baysinge. Mary;s father Michael baysinger was living with Latison and Mary in Greene County in 1860. ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <BAYSINGER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, July 27, 2007 8:38 PM Subject: Re: [Baysinger] Johan Peter BAYSINGER/BESINGER,b. 1750 Prussia DEU > America, m. 3. John Riley Baysinger was born in Breckinridge County, Ky. in 1841. He married Nancy J. Tate (17) on May 1, 1862. Nancy was born on Oct 15, 1844. John Riley's story is an interesting story. John Riley was accused of murdering a tavern keeper in the course of a robbery in October 1864. He was convicted and publicly hanged in Hardinsburg on Jan. 1, 1865. The rumor was that Riley did not die but that his family took him down , revived him,and buried a coffin filled with rocks. Riley was spirited away to Texas where at least one person later reported seeing him. Riley's brother Daniel H. and his brother-in-law, Lewis Baker, were held on the robbery charge but were acquitted. One son - Alfred D. - born1864.
