They came to KY with the Hughes family from Wales. Jane Baxter (my GGM) m'd Joe (John?) Hughes in Wales ?date. Their dtr: Elizabeth Ann Hughes (b. 1882-83 Laurel Co. KY d. 1968 KY) is my grandmother. The Baxters and Hughes were in coal mining and owned/had stock? in "Victoria Mines," Pittsburg, KY.There may have been other relatives from NSW to settle in this area.
