Parents of Jesse Erwin BAXTER were Elizabeth UNKNOWN and Unknown BAXTER, m. abt 1820 (prob. in McDowell Co, NC, though not proven). Elizabeth UNKNOWN b. 1805 (per census records). Children of this marriage: Finley, Minerva, William, Silvester, David and Charles. Elizabeth Unknown BAXTER is found on the 1850 McDowell Co, NC census. By 1860, she has followed her sons to Reynolds Co, MO. She is still there in 1870; however, by 1880, she is not on any census. Does this ring any bells out there?
