This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Baxter b. 8 April 1878 d. 9 June 1955 James E. Baxter and Sarah Martha Short Baxter, have other children, Lucy Baxter McClain is buried in Grady County, OK. The couple were on 1910 Census McIntosh Co.OK , not in 1920. Some of the other Baxters were still in McIntosh Co. OK in 1920. I haven't read a 1920 census for Grady County Oklahoma. According to information found on the Denton County Texas website, the Short family came from there, and possibly James E. Baxter was from the Cooke Co. TX Baxter's. I would like to know if he was. Some of James and "Sallie's" children were born in OK(IT) in 1897 and 1900, some in TX, some in AR. I haven't identified the Baxter's on the 1910 -1920 Census McIntosh Co. OK , born in MO, they may be James and "Sallie's" children also. I don't know if the two Baxter men are sons of James. I know they had a large family, I would really like to know the names of all the children born to James E. and "Sallie" Baxter. If anyone can help tie all this together, I would appreciate any ideas. One lady has provided a lot of information on the "Sallie" Short Baxter lady, but she doesn't know much about the Baxter line. I may have got some of this information wrong, most information came from website information and some from Lucy Baxter McClain's family. One of her sons married one of my aunts. So I am doing my cousins genealogy. Thanks a lot, Joy
