Baxter born August 28, 1840 in Georgia and died June 03, 1909 in Whitt, Parker Co., TX. He married Elizabeth J (?). She was born October 23, 1843 and died June 23, 1926 in Whitt, Parker Co., TX. Their children were James Madison 2 Baxter b 1861 in Tennesse d august 20, 1939 Iowa Park, Wichita Co., TX The other children were Almer Baxter, Dora Baxter, Lillian Baxter, Pet Baxter and Will Baxter. I do not know anything about the family other than these. However according to the 1880 census it shows that they lived in District 2 in Henderson TNand that he was born in GA and his wife was born in MS It list my grandfather James Madison 18 and that he was born in MS There was a child B. D. age 12 born in AL and W. R. (9 yrs),a Pet (7 yrs) and A. L. (2 yrs) and they were all born in TN I do know the names of some of their children. Almer is buried in Whitt, TX, Dora Baxter, Lillian Baxter who married a Dr. Foster in Iowa Park. who practiced medicine in Whitt, Tx. I remember Aunt Pet as I met her once when I was a child. My grandfather, James Madison was a butcher and had a meat market in, I believe Burkburnett, TX at one time. He was married twice. His first wife was E. M. Ballard who was dorn August 27, 1866 and died December 02,1889. He then married my grandmother Sarah Etta Seago. She was born in 1874 in Iuka Mississippi.
