Baxter Jr., a native of Leroy, Ala., and a resident of Saraland, died Thursday at an area hospital. He was 72. Survivors include his wife, Lola Franklin Baxter of Saraland; three daughters, Sheila J. Boyles of Wagarville, Mary Jo Ashcraft of Mobile and Tommie Ann Swinney of Coffeeville, Ala.; one stepdaughter, Sharon Rowe of Chickasaw; one stepson, Roger Moore of Spanish Fort; and two grandsons. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Radney Funeral Home on Industrial Parkway in Saraland. The funeral is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Leroy, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
