His readings were done in the 1930. There is also an index of Poucher that is sold, I believe, by the Ulster County Genealogical Society. I checked in the index also (covers all of UC, but not all the cemeteries). Not found in the index either. Give me some years for reference. What makes you believe they are buried in Marlborough?

Then go to http://www.rootsweb.com/~txfannin/s19-a.html and you can read about some of them) There is a little gold mine on the Fannin County, Texas GenWeb site. All the biographies from "Biographical Souvenir of the State of Texas," are there ... not just for Fannin County, but the entire state of Texas. The book was published by F.A. Battey Company of Chicago in 1889. Many of the biographies are of people who came from Georgia. The biographies are on pages from the book that were scanned, not biographies that were rewritten. The quality is excellent. Here is the Web address: http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Etxfannin/s.html;

To the south of the cemetery is an Episcopal church, to the north is a funeral parlor, to the west is the Marlboro Free Library. Indeed if you stand in front of the library and look west you're looking at the Presbyterian cemetery. The Presbyterian cemetery and the Riverside are side by side. The road immediately south of the library is Bloom Street. Were Bloom Street to continue east across Rte 9W, it would split the Presbyterian cemetery on the north and Riverside on the south. There is a small aisle of grass between the two. I don't know how far you have to travel, but you might want to check out "Cemeteries of Ulster County" by Poucher & Terwilliger - circa 1930. They have a listing of stone markers in most of the cemeteries in Ulster County. Give me a name and date and I will check Poucher's for you. MaryLou Mahan Town of Marlborough Historian

    1. [BAXTER~] Baxter/Mizell
    2. Does anyone have knowledge or related to Gene Mizell or Abe Baxter? Gene Mizell is Abe Baxter's half nephew. Gene Mizell was probably born about 1930 in Washington County, Alabama/ ALABAMA'S MISSING BARBER, POT OF BOILING (COPIED AS WRITTEN) EMIL GURNEY IS NOT A REAL NAME. HE IS REAL, BUT THE NAME IS FICTITIOUS Along , eerie shadow of pine and bay trees played grotesquely across the figures four men who stool ominously still in a lonely dirt road that led to the village of Vinegar Bend, Ala. a few miles east of the Mississippi state line. The strange quartet were variously garbed in native blue denim overalls, faded'---shirts and thick-old leather boots. From the hands of each dangled a high powered rifle or shotgun. A queer uncertainty of impending action dominated their unsmoling faces. Wash Dailey, youngest of the four, crushed a cigarette in the dust after two --Vous puffs. Something 's wrong here, ;he muttered. "Abe should have been here a half an hour ago. You sure he got it straight?" Joe Skumro straightened his gaint frame to full height. Slightly past 40, he was a half head taller than the rest. Iis sensuous mouth curled into a sarcastic smile. Fierce, narrrow - set eyes appraised Daily from head to foot. "What you so nervous about?" he sneered. "Maybe, you'd like to back out of this . Abe said he would be here by dark and tht means he'll be here. The otheer two stood silently apart. Wesley Berry, whose gray hair and furrowed ...ck branded him the oldest, merely nodded. Emile Gurney turned his bald head and looked furtively down the narrow road. " Here he comes." A hundred yards distance, through the somber May dusk, a bent form of the village barber, Abe Baxter, was approaching. In his left hand he held a bulging suitcase under his right arm was a single barrel shotgun. Walking slightly behind him was his 30 year - old nephew, Gene Mizell. Baxter carewarn face betrayed his 45 years. The last rays of the setting sun lighted his features as he came closer end smiled wanly at the four men who he had known since his childhood. "Sorry I'm a little late boys, he apologized." " I had some packing to do before we hunt." The quaret ignored the apology, shefed newvously, The tall black-haired Skumro spoke. "Did you tell anybody you was going deer huntuing. Abe?" Baxter"s intuition warned that tomething was amiss. These men had more on their minds than an evening deer hunt. (STOP COPYING) At the end of the 11 page type written story.was written Abe Baxter's bones at this writing, still repose in the attic of the courthouse at Chatom, unburied and unclaimed in a brown pasteboard carton. Latter Abe Baxter's son claimed the bones and buried him in Fruidale Cemetery in Fruitdale, Alabama, Washington County.(The story was probably written in sometimes in the 1930s.) Stories goes, they killed him, hid his body in a shack in the woods until the buzzards started flying over the shack., came back latter and boiled his body. They hung his bones in a croker sack and hung them in a tree in Fruitdale, Alabama in Washington County. Stories also go Abe was leaving his wife and family to run off with a young girl and had sold the Barber Shop and sold his school bus he drove and the money was in the suitcase and the four men including his half nephew Gen Mizell knew it. This story was in all the Dectective Storty Magazines.In Newspapers and Radio. The bones were found. They knew the bones were Abe Baxter's because of a pin in his knee. The four men were caught. Gene Mizel started talking about the murder to his friends. What I have written is from one of the four men. Skumro went to Kilby Prison. Does anyone know who wrote this hand typed story, many years ago. I was given to me by one of my Platt cousins Vernice Platt Davidson. I also talked to the Milzells in Escatawpa, Alabama , Washington County. Vernice also knew Skumro. Can anyone add to this story so the ending can be closed? I had a great copy of a picture of Abe Baxter , but sent it with a promise to return it as soon as he had it copied. Because it would take to long for me to get it to him. Dr. Baxter was retireing and promise to get the picture right back to me. Sandra maiden name Waldrop Georgia

Click on "Government Records" and then on RS141 Vital Statistics and type in the name. I hope this helps. 1. [BAXTER~] John Tyler Monroe
    2. I need the correct line of John Tyler Turner of Vinegar Bend, Alabama , Washington County. He married my gr gr uncle James Monroe Baxter and Mary Ellen McIIwain Baxter's daughter Racelia Gertrde Baxter. They had a son Noel Monroe Baxter. He was a Lawyer in in Vinegar Bend, Alabama. Racelia and John Tyler Turner later move to Mobile, Alabama. My grandpapa James Harry Waldrop son of Sarah Baxter, sister of James Monroe Baxter. James Harry Waldrop and Racelia Baxter Turner were first cousins, Noel Monroe Baxter and my papa Harry P. Waldrop were second cousin. Elizabeth Mary (Polly) Turner Ladd of Mobile , Alabama , daughter of Noel Monroe Turner and I are third cousins. (This is my connection to the Turners) Plus John Platt who married Kate McIIwain Turner . John Platt son of Elizabeth Baxter and John Calvin Platt.(My gr gr Baxter Aunt) Elizabeth Baxter Platt is the older sister of my gr grandmother Sarah Baxter Waldrop(Mrs. Joseph R. Waldrop, State Rep. of Washington County, Alabama, 1867 thru 1870 until he was murdered, ambushed shot and killed.) and James Monroe Baxter. Kate's parents died young and she was adopted by a Turner family. I do not think these two Turners are connected. I really don't know. Also Kate McIIwain Turner Platt, is also the sister of Mary Ellen McIIwain Baxter who married James M. Baxter and is the mother of Racelia who married John Tyler Turner. This is what I have about the Turners: The officers of the Alabama and ;Mississippi Railroad were: Noel Ebeneezer, President; Alfred Rhett Turner (N. E.Turner's son), auditor and vice president. Horace Sanford Turner was general manager of the lumber company, and Mart Lankford was general manager and one of the largest stockholders. Mr Turner's brothers, J . (John) Tyler Turner and Herbert C. Turner, were also acssociated with the Company. John Tyler Turner was the brother of Noel Ebeneezer. Right? What connection is John Tyler Turner to Noel and Sarah Turner? I can't find Mr. Eb or John Tyler listed as the children of Sarah and Noel Turner. Is there a John Tyler Turner line. He is the brother of Mr. Eb Turner. Are they the sons of Noel and Sarah Turner. I need help on this line. Thank you. My gr gr uncle James Monroe Baxter buit the first saw mill in Vinegar Bend, Alabama in 1884 and sold it in 1887 to Mr. Eneneezer Turner who in 1900 formed the Vinegar Bend Lumber Company. It was the largest saw mill in the South for many years. Before coming to Vinegar Bend, Mr. Turner worked for the Turner and Oates Lumber Company in Lumberton. The Company was owned by his uncle William Turner, and his fiance's uncle, William Oates. While in Lumberton ( now called Fruitdale) Mr. Turner married his fiance, Miss Verda Southall. Together they raised enough money to by my gr gr uncle James M. Baxter's lumber Company. Thanks for any help. Sandra maiden name Waldrop Georgia
