Sarah seems to have died in 1833 giving birth to William Tuck, 1833 - 1895, my great grandfather, head game keeper at Hilborough, 1870 - 1895. Where did Sarah die and where is she buried? I am in touch with a Levern Baxter in Canada who is interested in one or more of his ancestors who emigrated to Canada perhaps around the dates you mention. His ancestors came from East Anglia - the Wisbech area, in England. Interested? One of the Baxter brothers who stayed inthe Wisbech area was Henry Elijah Baxter who died in his 80s (?) aorund 1950.

There could be a link between our research because you refer to a Brother Robert died 20 may 1875 in Arnold (lived in Thornehaugh) - If this is Thornhaugh near Peterborough, England, then this is only 20 miles from Wisbech where I was born and my immediate aunts & uncles etc still live - and I'd love to see copy of the death certificate and anything else you have that might be pertinent. If it is a Thornhaugh near where you live then could it be a place named after the Thornhaugh in England?

    3. I'm looking for family of WILLIAM BAXTER and EMMA (WILHIDE) BAXTER. Also for family of WILLIAM BAXTER and second wife ANNIE L. (JONES)BAXTER. There were four daughters from this marriage, they were: Mrs. GRACE SLICK; Mrs. RUTH BRIMMER; Mrs. HILDA SCHLEIGH, and Mrs. EDITH CROMER; all of Hagerstown,Washington County,Maryland. Thanks for the list of census, there is one name in the list which i think is my connection: Sarah Baxter: wife B:Hunt Holme 1821. I know that my James Baxter that came to Australia never had any other brothers come too, all his bros. stayed in England (mainly Yorkshire). There were 8 bros & 1 sister. Brother Robert died 20 may 1875 in Arnold (lived in Thornehaugh) I have a copy of his funeral card. Other brothers are mentioned in letters dated 1888 1916 1920. Researching things from Australia about England is certainly a challenge, which I suppose keeps things interesting. I would love to stay in touch "just in case" we can help each other

    3. Still looking for relatives of John and Robert BAXTER, sons of William Baxter and Doris White. Doris' mother was Amy GARDNER, born in Longford, Middlexsex, England about 1878. She married Henry WHITE and emigrated to Canada, not sure whether the marriage or the emigration came first. Happy hunting!
