Hello, I am searching for a family whose anglecized name is Baker. I am guessing in German it would be Becker. >From the United States censuses, they were born in Baden, "Old Bavaria," Germany, and "Rein Bier." (I have seen the last place on several other families places of birth, although no one seems to know just where it was.) They might have been from a small village of Storchhof. Johann Becker, b. June 21, 1781, widow by 1850 Conrad Becker, b. 1817, widow by 1850 Heinrich Becker, b. March 6, 1818 Mary Anna Walter(s), b. March 8, 1821 (was Heinrich's wife by 1850) Catherine, b. April 2, 1846 (either a Becker or Walter(s), child of Mary Anna and Heinrich) John Becker, b. about 1825 Catherine, b. in Germany, but do not have a birth name, the younger John's wife by 1850 There is a fourth brother, whose name might be Michael. I have heard he also was married. They would have left Germany after April 2, 1846, and had arrived in the United States by October 1848 when Heinrich and Mary Anna's second child was born.
