    3. Darlene, I would like to compare my Illinois Haas family with yours. I have no Lorenz Haas in my tree of many Haas family members. I have Johann Adam Haas b. ca 1700-1720 in Stroetzbach, Unterfranken, Bavaria m. Susanna Jung Their son Johann Jacob Haas B. January 02, 1737 same place as father d. November 04, 1824 m. Anna Maria Bopp January 24, 1768. Their son John George Haas b. May 23, 1779 in Dornsteinbach, Bavaria (Parish of Krombach) and died there May 20, 1855 m. Catherine Parr b. March 28, 1784 same place as husband and there died June 02, 1855. It was their son who came to Illinois: Johannes Haas b. Sept 12, 1811 same place as parents, but died in Peoria, Peoria County, IL on July 06, 1856 m. Anna Maria Rosenberger on October 15, 1860 in St. Mary's Church at Black Partridge, (later Lourdes), Worth Township, Woodford County, IL. She was b. January 01, 1817 in Schneppenbach, Unterfranken, Kingdom of Bavaria and died July 04, 1850 in Worth Township, Woodford County, IL. they had nine children and the descendants report goes on for 5 pages in very small font. Mary Haas b. August 13, 1866 in Woodford County, IL married Michael Wilz on September 12, 1888 in Peoria, Peoria County, IL. Michael was born August 10, 1858 in Germantown, Worth Township, Woodford County, IL. He was a 1st cousin twice removed of mine. The family added the "t" to our surname later. Does any of this connect with your Haas family? Ken Wiltz in CA [email protected]

    3. Dear Ken, Unfortunately, no, none of your Haas family seems to connect with mine. Mine stayed mostly in the St.Clair Co. and surrounding counties and one went to the Hamilton Co. area. One other went to New Ulm, MN. I can't find Stroetzbach and Dornsteinbach, Bavaria on my maps. I have some old maps, unindexed and one present day map. Can you point them out to me by telling me what larger city they are near? Hohenmirsberg is north of Pottenstein which is north of Pegnitz. They are northeast of Nurenberg. Thanks for trying to connect.
