I am looking for more information on the Saltpeter Rebellion in 1755, and any information I can find on Balthasar Gottstein born 23.10.1724 in Rutte (Austria?), and Ursula Berger born 19.03.1743 in Oberalpfen as daughter of Martin & Anna Flugel. I was told by helpful people on the Banat Rootsweb list that Herrischried is a location of interest in these matters. My maiden name is Kothstein, I was born in Detroit, Michigan, my grandparents came from Setschan in what is now Serbia and Montenegro. They were ethnic Germans and I am searching for earlier records and links to the present ones. If you have any information or know where I can look, please advise.
