They had a daughter, Mary MANN, born October 12, 1844 in Aschaffenburg. Upon researching this family, I can not locate MANN family in ASCHAFFENBURG in the early 1800s. Some have suggested that I consider the area around ASCHAFFENBURG as the ancestral village of the MANN and SCHAEFER families. I checked the IGI and found a reference to a SCHAEFER family from DAMM. I wanted to check with list members who may have some knowledge of DAMM. Is their a Catholic Church there? Do any list members have these surnames in their family trees? I am appreciative of any help. I want to endorse the wonderful work done by list members and moderators. These groups have proved tremendously valuable to my genealogy research. Thank you.
