I am researching Ludwig Peter Heintz, who migrated from Zwiebrucken to New York, then to Louisiana in the mid 1800's. He was married to Marie Fredriecka Schellenberg. Family stories have him as either nobility or an aristocrat before the 1848 German revolution. Supposedly he had to be smuggled out the country in a pickle barrel, I am not sure how much truth there is in this story, I have not been able to confirm.
