    1. [BAVARIA] Re: Bavaria History and Hefersweiler site
    2. Hi, If you look at the title at the top of the page, it says "Chronical [sic] of Hefersweiler - Berzweiler - english version". I'm not sure how many subscribers are aware that a "Chronicle" (Chronik) might be available for their own ancestral villages or towns, too. Some are shorter, some just as detailed. You never know until you check to see what is available. Here is another example of one, this one in German that I had translated for my own family tree: http://www.kulturblosn.de/chronik_auszuge.htm This information can often be found by visiting a town's website. If it is not mentioned there, an email to the Rathaus (city hall) personnel would probably tell you if one exists for that location or not. Another place where you can look up historical texts is here: Quellen und Hilfsmittel zur ortsbezogenen Familienforschung in Bayern http://www.familie-habersack.de/obffb/obffb_o.htm Also, Bayern ensteht also lists some historical information along with coats of arms: http://www.bayern.de/HDBG/gemeind/index.htm Additionally, you can also check here: Karlsruhe Virtual Catalog http://www.ubka.uni-karlsruhe.de/hylib/en/kvk.html Joanne In a message dated 02/23/2003 7:46:22 AM Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: > > For those of you who asked for a reposting of the site, it is > http://www.hefersweiler-berzweiler.de/html/english/english.html and you > can navigate around the site at http://www.hefersweiler-berzweiler.de/ > > The address can also be found in the archives of the list.
