    3. Hi Joan, have you tried to find the marriage record in Grosskarlbach? Usually those are better for research and the parents should be mentioned on it and also where they came from. Birth records can be misleading because over 50% of the children never made it into adulthood, so if you find a birth record it is not really proof that you have your ancestor unless you have the marriage record as well and the parents on both match.
