Thank you, Paul, for your help. Now, I'm down to the place: Winterborn where my ancestor (Johannes Schröeder) says he was born or was from as listed on his 1820 passport. I have found two Winterborns: 1) Winterborn (or Winterborn-Pflaz) northeast of Saarbrücken. 2) Winterborn - just outside of Bonn (northeast) & appears to be very small. Questions: Where both of these locations formerly in old Bavaria? I feel my ancestor's town/village is #1 (above) as it is the closest to Baden-Baden where his son Daniel Schröeder was supposedly born. Thank you, Deane in Las Vegas, Nevada USA
