Hello Dorothy, I will see if I can find a phone number for Herr Bach and give him a phone call for you. If he has any records on Conrad Harms (es) , then I will ask my cousin who lives closer to that area to get copies of them for you. :-) We can post them to you should we find anything. Hope this helps. With kind regards, Pamela (sorry, I don't fill out request forms) From: Dorothy J. Gard Sent: Monday, September 26, 2005 4:58 AM Subject: Conrad HARMS - Altenmarhorst Hi Pamela, I have just been comparing a map I have with your circle of possible searches and think maybe my ggrandfather's area might be included. Conrad Harms(es) was born in 1830 in Altenmarhorst which I understand now is part of Twistringen in the county of Diepholz now in Niedersachsen. He applied for naturalization here in 1852 but I have not been able to find when he emigrated from Germany or his parentage. I was told several years ago that Mr. Otto Bach has been the honorary town archivist of Twistringen for many years but he has no email address listed. I did have a telephone number for him but with my poor German and hearing problems, I didn't feel I could talk with him. Do you think you could help me in any way? I would much appreciate your thoughts and comments. I am a "senior citizen" from PA, have been doing my husband's English line for many, many years but am now struggling with my own German line.
