    1. Re: [BAVARIA] Need help to locate origin of John Adam Scheller
    2. I'm not so certain that there is a town called Lippe in Bavaria. There are two that I know of - both in northwestern germany and both about equal distance, and not very far from the Bremen port (1 to the south and 1 to the north). The one closest to the port of Hamburg, however, is: Lippe, Schleswig-Holstein, Plön, DE This site may be useful to you. http://www.lippe.de/ Did you try to find the declaration of intention or naturalization papers for Scheller? It makes it easier to find than normal, since he didn't leave NY. These papers would list his birth town. Assuming they immigrated in 1847, and he rec'd citizenship in 1852, the time span for these records, is narrowed down to less than 5 years. -Kay, FL ----------------------- Subj: [BAVARIA] Need help to locate origin of John Adam Scheller  Date: 9/3/2005 12:25:10 PM Eastern Standard Time From: RayAOne@aol.com Reply-to: BAVARIA-L@rootsweb.com I have a lot of information pertaining to my gr,gr,grandfather, John Adam  Scheller but can not find out where his home town is in "The Kingdom of  Bavaria.
