Hello, I'm a newbie to the BAVARIA list and hope some of you might have information on my great grandfather. Daniel G. ROTHHAAS, Sr., b. 15 Aug. 1854, d. 1 Feb. 1930, from Birkweiler, Rheinfalz, Bayern (Bavaria) went to New Jersey, USA where on 23 Nov. 1873 he married Katherine Barbara MULLER originally from Zizishousen O/A. Nurtingen, Wuerttemberg. They had 7 children (Wilhelm Adolf, R. Theodore, Daniel G. Jr., Harry, Albert J., Emma Julie, Laura P.) then moved to Downingtown, PA. Daniel G. ROTHHAAS, Sr. operated a Spagnum Moss/Hemp business in New Jersey. His sons all became glass blowers, and one eventually went on to be the lighthouse keeper at Cape May, NJ. The sons changed the spelling of their last name to ROTHAS at some point. Daniel G. ROTHHAAS, Sr. and his wife Katherina Barbara MULLER ROTHHAAS are burried at Northwoods Cemetary outside of Downingtown, PA. Any information as to the parents and extended family of Daniel G. ROTHHAAS, or emmigration/ship/port facts about him would be much appreciated. Many thanks. K.Kleeh Berkeley, CA
