We have information that came down through the generations that our gg grandfather John Phillip Knoeller born: 1794 D: 1871-72 fought in the American war of 1812 went back to Germany sometime and than we pick him up here in the 1850 census living in Brooklyn, NY. The census shows that he and his wife had two 4 children at that time and 3 of the children were listed as being born in Germany one of the 4 was born here in New York in the year 1848.
