Dear listers, time and again we hear the lament that names have been misspelled in the past by those ancient scribes, and on account of it we ave all those variations to content with when doing research. It is therefore kind of annoying when you read e-mail postings about names and places, and how careless those names and places are being typed out. It is important that more care is being taken, because our computers are so case sensitive and search engines will not find what you are posting if not typed correctly. If you look for GIESSEN one should write GIESSEN and not GEISSEN, should write NIEDER- and not NEIDER-, JOACHIM and not JAOCHIM, you get my drift? Cheers, John Merz and not Mertz.
