Good Morning List My husbands gggrandfather is George Wachtler and his wife Kate Wagner. He immigrated to the US in June of 1844 through the port at Baltimore MD. The passenger list says his last known address was Ehingen. According to a book I read at the FHC it states that a lot of Wachtler's resided at Donau, Ehingen, Wurttemburg. I'm not sure how these addresses go but thought it would be a good thing to check for them in this area. How do I go about finding info from this area. I ordered a film of church records from this area but of course did not find anything. They were protestants and not catholic. I find German records very hard to read but I guess I will become more familiar with them. Any help in this area would be appreciated. Is there any place that I could write to for the info they needed to have in order to immigrate? They sailed from the the port at Bremen.
