    3. To date I have not had a clear reply on what criteria used by Filby to include or exclude ship lists. I also discovered something else while getting ready to transcribe another ship (the one in 1885 - don't ask me to look up - it will be online), Filby included the ship list but OMITTED the Germans who were naturalized American citizens. Full ship lists will always be available at the istg.rootsweb.com site while the parts of lists concerning any part of German Empire including parts of Poland and of any obvious German surnames from other areas such as Russia, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania, Lithuania and elsewhere will be included on Germany site to assist anyone in narrowing to specific areas.
