Greetings from Cincinnati. I do not receive mail from the Bavarian list yet--even though my subscription has been processed. I have a question and since I don't get mail yet, I am afraid I won't see the answer, so maybe someone will mail the answer to my e-mail address? There is a book, "Die Auswanderung nach Nordamerika aus Regierungsbezirk Oberbayern in den Jahren 1846-1852" by von Fiederich Blendinger. Could someone please look in it for me and tell me if Peter Strassel, born either 1807 or 1817 is listed there? We don't have much information on my mother's grandfather and if he is listed in that book, it would be a start. We don't have a town of origin. Also--if no one has that book, perhaps they can recommend another one for me to look for him in. All we know is that he waws Catholic and might have emigrated with a wife, Anna Maria and a daughter Margaret. We know that he was in the US by 1851 as his oldest son was born in Ohio.
